Anyway… Eurovision 2024 is on the horizon, and this year, with Olly Alexander as the UK’s entry, you’re going have a lot of fun. Why? Because you’ll finally be prepared as a viewing party host.
Picture the scene: printed Eurovision score cards, a list of Eurovision cocktail ideas and a stylish kitchen dresser to help you shine. Preparing the ultimate viewing party can be a slog. Fortunately for you, today’s article does all the heavy lifting. So, let the Eurovision Song Contest prep begin!

What’s the first port-of-call for lavish viewing parties? Cocktails. We’ll get onto Eurovision-themed cocktail recipes in a bit. For now, though, it’s worth noting how the right furniture can help you achieve the convenience, style and choice of a commercial bar in your home.

Eurovision-Themed Cocktails
Every Eurovision country has a national cocktail. Nobody, however, has the bandwidth to prepare 20+ gourmet drinks. So, save yourself the stress and cover the a handful of prominent countries. Here are a few of our stand-out recipes…
The Cosmorand (Switzerland)
Switzerland is fantastic for many reasons: their Eurovision entry, the chocolate, Federer – not to mention, the flag is a big plus. Besides that, though, there’s The Cosmorand. Invented by Swiss brandy makers, this drink features apricot brandy infused with apricot juice from Luizet trees found in the Swiss Alps.
Ingredients
- One Shot of Morand Douce d'Abricot
- One Shot of Triple Sec
- Two Shots of Cranberry Juice
- Half a Lime
- One Strip of Orange Zest
- Two Cups of Ice Cubes
Instructions
Pour Douce d’Apricot, triple sec and cranberry juice into an ice-cubed shaker. Then squeeze in the juice from half a lime. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with orange zest.
Swedish Mule (Sweden)
Second in our Eurovision cocktail line-up, the Swedish Mule is a Scandinavian classic. Traditionally made from fruit steeped in vodka for 21 days, this adapted recipe is equally delicious and approachable.
Ingredients
- Two Shots of Vodka
- One Shot of Lime Juice
- One Splash of Sugar Syrup
- Four Shots of Ginger Beer
- Crushed Ice
Instructions
Fundamentally simple, just mix the ingredients into crushed ice, stir and serve to your guests.
Finnish Long Drink (Finland)
Loved for its fruity taste, the Finnish Long Drink contains a generous portion of mixer in a highball tumbler. Combining gin and grapefruit soft drink, it was first invented for Finland’s 1952 Olympics.
Ingredients
- Two Shots of Gin
- One Splash of Lemon Juice
- One Splash of Cranberry Juice
- Four Shots of Grapefruit Soft Drink
- Crushed Ice
- A Slice of Grapefruit
Instructions
Mix the gin, lemon juice and cranberry juice into a glass filled with crushed ice. Then top up the glass with grapefruit soft drink and add a grapefruit slice for garnish.
Zelenskyy Cocktail (Ukraine)
Vibrant, packed with zing, and inspired by a charitable cause, this peach-and-lemon-flavoured cocktail is the perfect way to support Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ingredients
- Two Shots of Passion Fruit Puree
- A Splash of Peach Schnapps
- Two Shots of Blue Curacao
- One Shot of Vodka
- A Splash of Lemon Juice
- A Splash of Orange Juice
- Crushed Ice
- A Slice of Lemon
Instructions
Add passion fruit puree, peach schnapps, lemon juice and orange juice to a cocktail shaker and go to town. Then pour the mixture into a class filled with crushed ice. After that, mix the vodka with blue curacao in another glass and pour the concoction slowly into the top of the first glass’ contents.
The Black Rose (France)
Elegant and floral, this classic Parisian cocktail delivers a sharp bite thanks to the Vermouth that lurks beneath its innocent-looking pink surface.
Ingredients
- Two Shots of French Vermouth
- One Shot of Blackberry Cordial
- A Splash of Blackberry Syrup
- Three Blackberries
- A Sprig of Rosemary
Instructions
Mix the vermouth, cordial and syrup into a glass of crushed ice. Then add the blackberries and rosemary for garnish.
Sangria (Spain)
Served by the jug all over Spain, this potent cocktail is undeniably popular with the masses. The key is to use a selection of solid fruits that hold their integrity when left to stand in a cool serving pitcher.
Ingredients
- 750 ml Bottle Red Wine
- Six Shots of Orange Juice
- Four Shots of Brandy
- Three Tablespoons of Granulated Sugar
- One Sliced Orange
- One Slices Apple
- One Cup of Blueberries
- One Cup of Sliced Strawberries
- One Cinnamon Stick
Instructions
Pour the wine, orange juice, brandy and sugar into a bulbous pitcher, followed by sliced chunks of orange, apple and strawberry. Add blueberries and a cinnamon stick for garnish and leave to stand for 2+ hours.
Pimm’s No. 1 Cup (United Kingdom)
The undisputed king of British summertime drinks, this botanical elixir makes an appearance at most UK barbeques and garden parties. Taking a sip, it makes you feel undeniably British.
Ingredients
- One Third of a Jug of Pimm’s No. 1
- Two Thirds of a Jug of Lemonade
- One Sliced Orange
- One Cup of Strawberries
- A Few Cucumber Slices
- A Few Mint Leaves
- Two Cups of Ice Cubes
Instructions
Add ice to a jug. Lots of ice. Then pour in Pimm’s and lemonade alongside orange and cucumber slices, whole strawberries and mint leaves. Stir and pour a variety of ingredients into each glass.
