Turns Clutter into Class
Designed to be elegant, strong and versatile, our kitchen shelving will simultaneously clear your counters and turn appliances, house plants and even cooking ingredients into artful décor.
Adapts to Your Lifestyle
Masterclass kitchens are made to order. From oak shelves embedded into an island, to walnut ones used to construct a classy wall bookshelf – the depth, style, purpose and vision are all yours.
Designed to Prioritise the Planet
All Masterclass products, including our wall shelf units, floating bookshelves and wine racks, comprise ~40% recycled wood. The rest, we source from renewable FSC® and PEFC accredited forests.
Uses Unmatched Materials
No matter your preferences – from oak floating shelves beside your pantry to a teacup display shelf set into a fitted island – all our creations are solid, water resistant and designed to last a generation.
“Lots of our customers want a kitchen that’s practical and supports their interests. Just some of the kitchen shelf display ideas I’ve seen include spaces for cookbooks, herb gardens, glassware, smart appliances and even feng shui crystals. Tell your designer about your hobbies and how you use your kitchen and they’ll do their best to include shelving that allows you to do more of what you love.”
– Gerald Jones, Managing Director at Masterclass Kitchens
Talk to a DesignerWays to Use Open Shelving
Enhance Your Cooking: A floating spice rack, a display of oils, a garden for sprouting herbs – shelves provide an enabling space for home cooks who want to bypass frozen foods.
Rediscover Hobbies: Some see brown or beige, floating shelves. We see potential. Indeed, using our shelves, you can make hobbies more accessible and spend more time doing what you love.
Entertain with Props: Use a tall open bookshelf full of books, family photos, holiday souvenirs and quirky curiosities that represent your personality to colour your stories while hosting guests.
Elevate Your Kitchen: The paraphernalia of a working kitchen can be eclectic and look like clutter. Make wise shelf design choices, however, and the “junk” becomes art. It’ll look intentional.

What Our Customers Are Saying
“Our key concern was creating more storage space, and by moving the positioning of some of our appliances and advising us to scrap our existing (unnecessary) breakfast bar, we now have a lot more cupboards and doors which has made a huge difference. We were also able to incorporate a built-in wine rack and open book shelving which gives the kitchen a more individual, premium look.”
– Caroline Hodges, Trustpilot Review
“The difference is truly amazing. The white high gloss units combined with the grey wood panels and shelving looks superb.”
– Paul and Mair Hay, Trustpilot Review
“From the initial visit by the measurement and planning team through to the very talented carpenter who fitted the wardrobe, shelving and overbed cupboard units into a very awkward space, they could not have been more helpful. Everything happened when they said it would happen and everyone was there when they said they would be there. Have nothing but praise for a talented, helpful and well organised team.”
– S L Corfield, Trustpilot Review
Customer Questions Answered
Q: How deep should kitchen shelves be?
Your shelves should be as deep or shallow as you want them to be. As long as your shelves hold everything you want them to hold and look good in your space, that’s all that matters. This is why we offer complete customisation at Masterclass Kitchens. Depending on the style, you can order shelves anywhere between 140mm and 2,020mm deep.
Q: Can you give any tips regarding what to put on kitchen shelves for decoration?
Almost anything can look good on a kitchen shelf if it’s dressed in an artful way. Perhaps, you could try house plants if you want to freshen up your space. Maybe cookbooks, if you want to encourage experimental cooking. Choose something that interests you and your shelf could improve your life.
Q: How much weight can Masterclass Kitchens shelves hold?
Available in Portland Oak and Tuscan Walnut, our wall-mounted bookshelves can hold 85kg per m2 or even more if they’re installed in sturdy furniture, such as a kitchen island. That’s a lot of strength!
Q: Do your shelves include any plastic elements?
No. Across the board, we’ve taken great strides to minimise plastic in our products in favour of high-quality materials, from the brackets holding our fancy floating shelves to the runners in our drawers and the board on our cabinet doors. As a result, all moving parts come with a lifetime guarantee, and ~40% of our board is recycled, with the rest coming from sustainable FSC® and PEFC accredited forests.
