Product Care
Please read the general care information in full before finding the relevant range specific care and cleaning information for your new kitchen.
- Dry any water or spills from around the sink area after use. Water left could run onto the doors below it and can also cause damage to the worktop. If a liquid is spilled on your doors, dry the front, back, top edge and underside, as soon as possible. Any liquid that is left to sit there will begin to penetrate the door.
- Do not open your dishwasher door during or immediately after the cycle has completed. Please allow the appliance to cool completely before removing any items from it.
- Items that generate heat or steam such as kettles, toasters, coffee machines or air fryers should never be placed directly under your wall units as the heat and moisture will cause the doors above to melt or distort. Ideally, all small appliances like this should be positioned away from any wall units.
- Never allow your oven to cool with the door open as this will cause any adjacent doors or panels to melt or deteriorate. Never bake or grill with the appliance door open.
- Always have your extractor fan turned on when using your hob. This will allow the steam and heat to be vented out of the room.
- If you are using glass cleaner on glazed units, please ensure that the cleaner only comes into contact with the glass as the cleaning product’s chemicals could harm the door's finish.
- Do not use a wax-furniture polish, abrasive or aggressive cleaners, bleach or disinfectants, multipurpose cleaners, dilutes, acetone, alcohol, solvent or similar products on the door, as this will damage the surface. Wax and polishes leave a residue build-up that is difficult to remove.
- Remove all cooking splashes immediately with a damp cloth and dust with a clean, soft cloth only.
- Never use any abrasive pads or abrasive cleaners on the furniture. Spills and condensation on the fascias/panels should be cleaned and dried immediately.
Medium density fiberboard (MDF) base board coated with decorative paper on both sides and lacquered with UV treatment on its front face, with a 1mm matching ABS profile and a melamine reverse.
The protective film of the panels must be removed once installation is complete or a maximum of 6 months after delivery, in order to ensure that no adhesive residue remains on the surface.
For cleaning, it is recommended to use a nonabrasive cloth moistened with soap and water and immediate subsequent drying. Under no circumstances must harsh chemicals be used such as solvents, alcohol, ammonia, etc.
A timber product should not be fitted into a damp or newly plastered room. Diverse changes in a room’s humidity will result in timber doors expanding and contracting. This could result in the joint lines showing and doors bowing.
Solid timber is a natural product; therefore, it is not possible to achieve a uniformity of grain structure and finish within the raw product. Timber will mellow over time and change colour with exposure to light. As our painted timber doors are made from natural materials, they can be subject to movement depending on environmental changes. Natural movement may cause shrinkage or hairline cracks in the paintwork or along the joints of the door frame. This is a likely feature of painted timber.
Please be aware that the paint finish will change over time with exposure to light. The sheen level of painted doors will reduce by as much as 20%. The rate of change will differ between pieces and is therefore outside of our control.
Cleaning and caring for the door
Please allow the product to settle for a minimum of 72 hours once installation has been completed and the protective film has been removed. When the film is first removed, static will attract dust to the door, so it is best to ensure the room is clean and dust free before removing the film.
Only use a 1% soap, 99% water (liquid soap) solution when cleaning timber. Please always follow the natural grain pattern. It is advisable to use a damp (not wet), soft and clean microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and marks, followed immediately with a clean and dry soft cloth.
Our range of silk painted doors are manufactured from Deep Router grade MDF which conforms to all British and European standards. The doors are painted using an Acrylic white primer followed by a Polyurethane finishing coat in your chosen colour. Once the MDF is painted, a protective film is applied to the products which should only be removed once all installation work has been completed.

Silk Painted products have a very hard-wearing finish, but they can chip easily if knocked. Care should be taken with these products to ensure they keep looking their best. If they are chipped, use a matching touch up pen or paint stick to repair the damage.

Our 5-piece wrapped doors are manufactured MDF which conforms to all British and European standards. The 22mm thick, 5-piece doors are machined just like a timber door and then wrapped in a PVC foil to form the surface finish required.
These products are wrapped in PVC, which is a man-made material and commonly used throughout the kitchen and bedroom industry. PVC is a plastic based material and has a relatively low melting point. Care should be taken when these products are placed near ovens and dishwashers. The general care guidelines should be followed closely. They are, however, very durable and resilient against knocks and bumps.

Your gloss doors will be supplied with a protective film on the front of the product. We advise that the film should only be removed once the installation has been completed. The product surface is fully cured upon delivery, but care must be taken not to scratch the door when cleaning.
Cleaning and caring for the door
It is advisable to clean both the back and front surfaces of the product. Where possible, use a soft damp microfibre cloth, taking particular care to wipe the surface and edges dry. We do not recommend that you use a gloss cleaner on the product as plain water is sufficient for regular cleaning. Always use a lint free cloth and use a circular motion to achieve a high gloss buff. We also recommend using a clean/dust free microfibre cloth as these are perfect for achieving a high shine with very little effort.
Avoid any agents that contain ammonia, alcohol, bleach, or an abrasive. If the surface of the product is exposed to any oil-based substance (for example olive oil, butter, margarine, or cooking oil), the spillage must be wiped away immediately to prevent staining.
High gloss finishes do sometimes show fingerprints – but these can easily be removed with a soft, clean cloth.

Lumina is front faced with 'Senoplast' Acrylic, a very highly finished material, just like a bathtub. Your gloss doors will be supplied with a protective film on the front of the product. We advise that the film should only be removed once the installation has been completed. The product will need around 72 hours to fully cure and harden once the film has been removed. This means that the doors will be liable to scratching and other marks during this initial time. We do not recommend that you clean the doors for at least a few days to prevent any damage to the surface/ finish of the product.
Please be careful not to puncture the surface of the product as this will allow moisture ingress and will cause the MDF core to deteriorate.
